“Just this once” as in “Just this once, I’m gonna read with you Batman, even though you know I prefer Superman, Rose. Look at my t-shirt. Look, isn’t Superman’s logo cooler?”
And it’s the Feeling Electric ‘verse, of course. By professor_spork.

Oh my gosh, they’ve taken their shoes off, everything about this is beautiful.

I don’t care which one she’s wearing, but if I saw a girl waking around in one of these outfits, I would walk up to her and shamelessly flirt until she falls in love with me and we make dirty, superhero love right there.

batgirl ftw!!

Awesome. Period.

Love it.

I can has?

Can I have the Green Lantern one like now?

I WOULD BUY ALL OF THEM

Fanfiction Writer Manatee: Faanfiction Friiiidaaayyyy! The TARDIS Arrives!

fanfictionmanatee:

This edition, my dear readers, is doubly important. Not only is it Friday, but it is also the celebration of the end of my graduation tests this week! :D Thank the good Cheesus above, I. AM. DONE.
Anyway, have some Doctor Who. British TV or not, everyone should watch this show. It’s changed the way I look at things completely, and I love it. This week: ProfessorSpork, with “Feeling Electric.”

I’ll be the first to admit that I’m not really one for the alternate universe kind of fanfiction. Often, AU fics take away the elements of the story that really made it unique and special, and places the characters in the bland, boring world that we call reality. Rarely have I found that kind of story worth reading, and usually stick to it as a last resort.
Every now and then, though, one stumbles upon an AU that really deserves some attention. In this case, we have ProfessorSpork’s Doctor Who AU, “Feeling Electric.” The story centers around the tale of Rose and the Tenth Doctor, David Tennant (who, by the way, is my absolute favorite, and a good reason as to why I love this story so much) and their adventures. What I really loved about this story was how it found a way to bring the magic of Doctor Who into our banal, quaint little world. For instance, after the Doctor and Rose meet, they name his junker the TARDIS, standing for the rather clever “Travelling Avec Rose; Do Interesting Stuff.” His name, Doctor, is actually a code name, and Rose’s, of course, is Bad Wolf. Even Arthur the horse and The Face of Boe make an appearance during the story. It’s all there, every quote and minor tidbit throughout the series that we all grew to love and cherish is included, highlighted in its own shining moment of glory. It makes reading “Feeling Electric” all the more interesting, as happening upon each little nugget is like walking outside and finding the TARDIS sitting outside your front door, ready to whisk you away on a fantastical journey.
Not all is sunshine and rainbows in Whovian land, however. Just like any other relationship, the Doctor and Rose have their rough patches. At one point, Rose becomes frustrated with the Doctor’s mysterious ways and, in the midst of their argument, reveals his true name. (I, of course, won’t be telling you what it is; You’ll just have to find out for yourselves!) The two have to part shortly thereafter, with the Doctor heading off to college and leaving Rose back home, on her own. They still manage to find a way to make it work, though, and that’s the best part about their relationship. Through thick and thin, the Doctor and Rose can always work out their problems and move past them, and ProfessorSpork does a brilliant job of portraying that connection, all while keeping the story trim and just a little bit foxy.
Oh yes, you know what that means. There is, indeed, sex in this little tale. The one thing all the Whovians who supported the Doctor and Rose, and particuarly Ten/Rose, have ever wanted, and ProfessorSpork gives it to us. How can you deny her skill now?
It is not a lemon, for which I am thankful. That may disappoint some of you, but Sporky is quite tactful about it. For me, the prize has to go to the scene at the very end of the third chapter, where Rose and the Doctor have their own little prom experience, after the Doctor misses the true prom due to college work. The scene was terribly sweet, yet infused with an undeniable hint of sexiness that made it quite engrossing, indeed.
ProfessorSpork has undeniable talent, and it shows in her work. The Doctor and Rose have such a beautiful, natural relationship with each other, exactly the way they do in the series, and their adventures in the story are still made exciting and fun, even with something as little as a ride in the TARDIS or a conversation over the phone. ProfessorSpork has taken the average, boring little Earth we call home and given it something magical. She gives hope to all of us poor little Roses out there- or even Donnas and Marthas and Amys- that maybe, one day we’ll find our own Doctor, and that’s all the more we could ever want.

Um, awesome.
